It is nice that you want to help triaging bugs but randomly closing bug
reports without even considering them is just pointless. Have you tried
to reproduce it? It is very easy. Find a CD with some errors (or just
scratch it a bit yourself). Then try to copy the CD into your hard
drive. This is surely a kernel issue that has existed in Linux since,
well, always. So, yes, this bug is still exists and this bug is still
valid. I don't have any hope that it will be solved soon, though.
