Then, after plugging in, I get some amount of time before the computer goes belly up. For instance, just now, after plugging in, I got perhaps 20 minutes of time to install some packages I like, apply some setup scripts, install ardour, then it crashed while running sudo apt-get install <several lv2 plugins>; I hope the system isn't borked for good now that it failed during an apt-get install!
