I've been dealing with this issue for two years now, happens about 30% of the
time when I put it on the dock, after a restart it works fine. Since I don't
have the time or knowledge to help identify this issue, at least I wanted to
share the workaround I recently found:
- Just never dock or undock when the laptop is suspended. Turn it on first,
then dock/undock. Otherwise you're in trouble next time.

Linux 4.9.0-9-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.9.168-1+deb9u5 (2019-08-11) x86_64 GNU/Linux
