I'm hopeful this (ie the end-user-facing issue; we've not changed what temp dir is used) would be fixed on current nightlies ( https://nightly.mozilla.org/ ) based on bug 1555644 being fixed on Linux/macOS now. Would it be possible for you to verify if your issue is resolved on nightly?
