Your root filesystem appears to be on a USB device: > [ 15.028968] usb 2-2: Product: Cruzer Glide > [ 15.305140] usb 2-4: Product: Cruzer Dial > [ 16.316690] scsi 2:0:0:0: Direct-Access SanDisk Cruzer Glide 1.00 > PQ: 0 ANSI: 6 > [ 16.317191] scsi 3:0:0:0: Direct-Access SanDisk Cruzer Dial 1.00 > PQ: 0 ANSI: 6
and it appears to have errors/corruption: > [ 46.226406] EXT4-fs (sda5): warning: mounting unchecked fs, running e2fsck > is recommended > [ 46.228019] EXT4-fs (sda5): mounted filesystem without journal. Data will be lost this is almost certainly the cause of any further errors; you need to, at minimum, fsck your filesystem, but that still may not solve everything if further errors have been introduced into package files due to the filesystem corruption. Using a USB drive for root filesystem can be dangerous, since if you remove the USB device it can easily corrupt the filesystem (and break your system, of course). Also you seem to not be using a ext4 journal, which makes the filesystem unable to try recovery from the journal. In any case, this isn't a bug, this is a problem with your system. ** Changed in: systemd (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1858635 Title: package udev 237-3ubuntu10 failed to install/upgrade: unable to make backup link of './lib/udev/hwdb.d/20-pci-vendor-model.hwdb' before installing new version: Bad message To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/1858635/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
