I tried today a live cd from knoppix, wich shows smiler problems, it also hung at dedecting drivers, but i can see now where the problem is, the problem is the pcmcia driver.
If i boot knoppix with the nopcmcia option it works. Unfortunaly the same option in ubuntu doesnt work, i tried the option "live hw-detect/start_pcmcia=false" but gusty still freezes at dedecting hardware drivers.
