Tested again after kernel jump to 5.3 (5.3.0-26-generic): still a
problem.  Nice "optimisation" fellas.  I guess most of the world doesn't
experience this because they are either have grounded speakers or a
motherboard that grounds the output, so they don't hear a buzz when a
signal isn't coming from the sound card?  (I have cheap speakers and a
10+ year old motherboard.)
