Same issue with my Intel Wireless 8260 Upgrading from 7906 to 8324 in Ubuntu 18.04 fixed this nasty bug for me. I use now this and be happy https://launchpad.net/~canonical-hwe-team/+archive/ubuntu/backport-iwlwifi?field.series_filter=bionic
