Ok, thanks for reading this. I would like to point out that it doesn't happen 
when trying to install a few other distro's, like vanilla Ubuntu or Fedora. I 
have checked the integrity of the USB flash drive, and all seems well there, 
and I have also checked the integrity of my drive that I am installing to 
(works fine of course, and have check nvnme-cli just to read some of the stats).
  
  The only thing that I would think that it would be, is that the ISO is bad 
somehow... but I actually re-downloaded it when I did, because of this same 
error, thinking that downloading a new iso would work. 

  This same error occurs when I try to install KDE Neon, Kubuntu and
Xubuntu, but not vanilla Ubuntu.

Just to get the ISO out of the question, I will download a new one,
using torrents and retry, and then come back.
