Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

first of all: sorry for my bad English - I'm Dutch bud I'll try

I have a problem with upper-case and lower-case file extensions

This is what I noticed: when I look on a regular photo-site where you can
upload one or many photo(s) (.jpg-files) to use in a photo-album or as wish
cart, or something like that, I have a problem. Many sites have an
'upload-function' which uses your basic file browser. Nautilus is used with
Ubuntu.
When I click on the upload-button, Nautilus has get the order (from the site of
course) to look at files with a specified file extension. In this case that's a
jpg file. On this point I noticed, Nautilus listens too exactly to his order.
Nautilus shows only de jpg-files with a lower-case file extension. Now I've
used different digital cameras and one of them produces photos with upper-case
file extensions. The photos they are taken with this type of camera wouldn't be
recognised by sites like these.

In my opinion Nautilus shout be transform all the upper-case extensions
to lower-case by default or should make a difference between upper- and
lower-case file-extensions; less sensitive for example.
