I got around this by installing the 100.14.09 driver. I downloaded the driver from nvidia site and I used the instructions to install it from the forums.
Instructions: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=72490 Driver download: http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_display_ia32_100.14.09.html If you don't know how to work without X (your display with mouse), I would not suggest trying to install it as you WILL loose your display.
