Finally got a successfull install on Intel NUC 8i3BEK - secure boot- Also had a failure with VirtualBox and Dell Inspiron 3521 both using "legacy" boot moods.
Could this possible be part of the problem? Also tried another distro using Calamares - Endeavour OS- which failed to erase disk as well.
