I was experiencing the same problem, so I installed Daniel Haler's PPA version and about two weeks ago. It cured my immediate ills and had been running ever since without problems.
Last night, I installed the version released into gutsy-proposed. My initial impression is that it also seems to fix the problem and not cause any problems with any other packages I use, although my testing is minimal at this point.
