A careful look at this forum topic: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=586894 will show that the original poster (mfajer) has an Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) IDE Controller, yet his Etch lsmod report includes the SIS5513 module. So, looks like people with the Intel 82801 controllers are also messed up by the removal of this module.
