The installation media uses the open source driver "nouveau" for nVidia
cards, and recent GPUs are not always well supported. It is recommended
to boot in "safe graphics" mode, then select "Install 3rd party drivers"
during installation to install latest nVidia proprietary drivers for
your card.

To boot in "safe graphics" mode, if you're booting with UEFI, select an
entry with "(safe graphics)" from the boot menu. If you're booting in
legacy mode, press any key when the purple screen with the small
keyboard appears  to display the boot menu, the n select an entry with
"safe grpahics".
