Public bug reported: I am using ubuntu 20.04 with the latest update.
I had apps freezing up, booted off of my ubuntu 18.04 cd and ran fsck on my drives. I noticed my apps did not spontaneously freeze up. But when I went to a website and downloaded a file. All my apps froze up actually my whole gui froze up and the screen went blank and then everything came back. My dmesg states: [ 12.006518] vboxdrv: module verification failed: signature and/or required key missing - tainting kernel [ 12.022345] vboxdrv: Found 6 processor cores [ 12.050289] vboxdrv: TSC mode is Invariant, tentative frequency 3311192026 Hz [ 12.050291] vboxdrv: Successfully loaded version 6.1.4_Ubuntu (interface 0x002d0001) [ 12.059583] VBoxNetFlt: Successfully started. I also noticed in the past if I copy files using the gui sometimes everything freezes up until the files finish copying. I think the two are related. I think the bug is in gnome not sure. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1869640 Title: Ubuntu 20.04 Desktop clean install:Apps just freeze up then whole GUI restarts To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1869640/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
