Sorry Walter, I missed your last question. I've only experience (that I can recall) with Xubuntu, and I can achieve it with xubuntu (i've done it too with main ubuntu, and possibly with other flavors [kubuntu too I believe], but not recently, maybe in 18.10 or 19.04 cycles)
