Public bug reported:

I'm using Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS, Kernel Linux 4.15.0-91-generic (x86_64), Version
# 92-Ubuntu SMP Fri Feb 28 11:09:48 UTC 2020.
My system is installed on an SSD.
My current session is interrupted once a week. A black screen appears with the
following message:

/dev/nvme0n1p2: clean, 1159263/60497920 files, 29005368/241961984 blocks
fsckd-cancel-msg: Press Ctrl + C to cancel running file system checks.

(The numbers may vary from week to week)

There are the following problems:

1. The process cannot be interrupted by pressing Ctrl + C. [Error]

2. The user receives no progress information about what the system is
doing. [Improvement suggestion]

3. The process remains in this status even if you wait several hours.
[Error]

4. The system can only be restarted by a hardware-reset.

Hints:
nvme0n1 is my SSD
nvme0n1p1 contains / boot / efi
The root directory is in nvme0n1p2 /
In nvme0n1p3 is [SWAP]
