Public bug reported: With the recent upgrades of plymouth in Ubuntu 20.04 the old Ubuntu GNOME plymouth theme is a bit flaky on some systems.
I am going to switch the vanilla-gnome-desktop to use the Ubuntu plymouth theme, to ease maintenance. new installs will get the Ubuntu theme. upgrades will retain the Ubuntu GNOME theme but if it doesnt work on your system or you want the default one, you can remove the packages plymouth-ubuntu-gnome-logo and plymouth-ubuntu-gnome-text ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.04 Package: vanilla-gnome-desktop 0.85 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.4.0-18.22-generic 5.4.24 Uname: Linux 5.4.0-18-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu22 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: GNOME Date: Sun Apr 5 20:44:57 2020 InstallationDate: Installed on 2019-06-07 (303 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 19.04 "Disco Dingo" - Release amd64 (20190416) SourcePackage: ubuntu-gnome-meta UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to focal on 2020-03-14 (22 days ago) ** Affects: ubuntu-gnome-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug focal -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1870902 Title: Switch to default Ubuntu plymouth theme To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-gnome-meta/+bug/1870902/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
