Public bug reported:

In the current available version of the mate-terminal software,
automatic hyperlink (url) recognition is not working.

Expected behaviour would be that, while hovering over a url, one could
right-click > select 'Open Link' to open the link in the default
browser.

I came aware of that bug while using the irssi chat software.

To test: Type an url like 'https://mate-desktop.org' in your mate-terminal and
try to open the hyperlink.
