Public bug reported: Steps to reproduce: Install Ubuntu 20.04 beta Install Ubuntu Tools on top with official installer
On the package selection screen, select whichever packages you want from the left-hand sidebar (I'm pretty sure I selected all of them, but possibly not the bottom one.) Then press the "enable backports PPA" button, and all the packages you've just selected are de-selected, and you then need to go and reselect each package before proceeding. Not difficult, but less than optimal. Preferred behaviour: If enabling the backports PPA needs to occur before selecting packages, make that step precede package selection; OR retain present installer workflow, but don't de-select packages when the "enable backports PPA" is pressed. Another improvement would see an option for "select all Ubuntu Studio packages" (probably excluding gnome-branding), rather than having to select each package individually. I think this might be like a "full install / custom install" kind of option, such as seen in VLC, Libre Office, etc. Thanks, Ken. *** ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.04 Package: ubuntustudio-installer 0.07 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.4.0-21.25-generic 5.4.27 Uname: Linux 5.4.0-21-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu26 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: skip CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Mon Apr 13 12:23:02 2020 InstallationDate: Installed on 2020-04-12 (0 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 20.04 LTS "Focal Fossa" - Beta amd64 (20200402) PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: ubuntustudio-installer UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: ubuntustudio-installer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug focal -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1872389 Title: minor usability quirk at package selection screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntustudio-installer/+bug/1872389/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
