I've tried contacting the Debian maintainer a couple times over the last
few months, but never heard a response.  I can continue trying to reach
them, but let's say in six months they still don't respond.  Then what?
Can we migrate on our own?

The fact is, the original v1.7.0 is pretty out-dated at this point, and
is missing many useful features.
