I'm surprised: 8 years later, the bug is still here. I wanted to upgrade from 18.04 to 20.04 and faced the exact same issue caused by postgis.
What worked for me were to remove postgis, do the upgrade, and re- install postgis: sudo apt remove postgresql-12-postgis-* sudo do-release-upgrade sudo apt install postgresql-12-postgis-3 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/996916 Title: postgresql packages in the removal blacklist making it hard to upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/996916/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
