I have lockups on i945. After disabling gnome-screensaver I had NO lockups for two weeks.
Yesterday I've locked display when leaving my laptop. This run screensaver with electricsheep module. After few hours I get back, moved mouse, screen turned on and unlock dialog appeared. I didn't unlock, left system for one more hour. After this hour I moved mouse and screen didn't turn back on, keyboard wasn't reacting to ctrl-alt-backspace and X looked hung.
