I confirm same bug on my system. Pressing the lid button by hand does nothing visible immediately but afterwards the /etc/acpi/videobtn.sh script gets executed at random intervals (I suspect that whenever thermal zone events are received) and the screen goes blank as if the lid was closed.

This bug makes Gutsy unusable for me.
