** Description changed: When using Chromium, and there's 2 or more windows open, an intermittent hardware glitch is triggered, as if the screen was divided into a small quadrant grid, and these quadrants were horizontally and vertically skewed & degraded into particles. The glitch happens in a 1/4-second, at random intervals between events. OS: Ubuntu 18.04 / elementaryOS 5.1.3 Processor: Intel i5 540M (ThinkPad laptop) Video: NVidia NVS 3100M (using proprietary driver 340.108) Chromium version: 80.0.3987.163 (Build oficial) Built on Ubuntu It only happens in Chromium or Chrome, since version 70+. Firefox does not exhibit this behavior. - Logging out from the user session and logging back in and reopening - Chromium/Chrome makes the triggered glitch disappear. + Logging out from the user session and logging back in and reopening Chromium/Chrome makes the triggered glitch disappear. + --- + ProblemType: Bug + ApportVersion: 2.20.9-0ubuntu7.14 + Architecture: amd64 + CrashDB: ubuntu + CurrentDesktop: Pantheon + Desktop-Session: + 'pantheon' + '/etc/xdg/xdg-pantheon:/etc/xdg' + '/usr/share/gnome:/usr/share/pantheon:/home/dmayr/.local/share/flatpak/exports/share:/var/lib/flatpak/exports/share:/usr/local/share:/usr/share:/var/lib/snapd/desktop' + DetectedPlugins: + + DistroRelease: elementary OS 5.1.3 + Env: + 'None' + '/usr/local/lib' + InstallationDate: Installed on 2020-02-07 (80 days ago) + InstallationMedia: elementary OS 5.1 "hera" - stable amd64 (20191202) + InstalledPlugins: + + Load-Avg-1min: 0.73 + Load-Processes-Running-Percent: 0.1% + MachineType: LENOVO 2924BV6 + NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia + Package: chromium-browser 80.0.3987.163-0ubuntu0.18.04.1 [origin: Ubuntu] + PackageArchitecture: amd64 + ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/vmlinuz-5.3.0-46-generic root=UUID=35f065a1-29da-4be8-896a-ed1ace85e367 ro quiet splash vt.handoff=1 + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.3.0-46.38~18.04.1-generic 5.3.18 + Tags: hera third-party-packages + ThirdParty: True + Uname: Linux 5.3.0-46-generic x86_64 + UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) + UserGroups: adm cdrom dip kvm lpadmin plugdev sambashare sudo vboxusers + _MarkForUpload: True + dmi.bios.date: 10/11/2012 + dmi.bios.vendor: LENOVO + dmi.bios.version: 6UET70WW (1.50 ) + dmi.board.name: 2924BV6 + dmi.board.vendor: LENOVO + dmi.board.version: Not Available + dmi.chassis.asset.tag: No Asset Information + dmi.chassis.type: 10 + dmi.chassis.vendor: LENOVO + dmi.chassis.version: Not Available + dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnLENOVO:bvr6UET70WW(1.50):bd10/11/2012:svnLENOVO:pn2924BV6:pvrThinkPadT410s:rvnLENOVO:rn2924BV6:rvrNotAvailable:cvnLENOVO:ct10:cvrNotAvailable: + dmi.product.family: ThinkPad T410s + dmi.product.name: 2924BV6 + dmi.product.version: ThinkPad T410s + dmi.sys.vendor: LENOVO + modified.conffile..etc.default.chromium-browser: [deleted] ** Attachment added: "ChromiumPrefs.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1874882/+attachment/5362818/+files/ChromiumPrefs.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1874882 Title: chromium-browser: intermittent display glitch when more than 1 window open To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/1874882/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
