Public bug reported: lsb_release -rd:
Description: Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS Release: 18.04 apt-cache policy pkgname: linux-image-5.3.0-51-generic: Installed: 5.3.0-51.44~18.04.2 Candidate: 5.3.0-51.44~18.04.2 Version table: *** 5.3.0-51.44~18.04.2 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic-updates/main amd64 Packages 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic-security/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Problem: I use a bluetooth headset for listening to music and I have noticed an issue where if I use "Turn Off" option from the Bluetooth shortcut while it is connected to my Bluetooth headset, chances are, the next time I power on the laptop. Steps to reproduce: 1. Have QCA9565/AR9565 WLAN+BT chip 2. Install Ubuntu 18.04 LTS 3. Connect Bluetooth to a bluetooth headset. 4. After few minutes, power down Bluetooth from gnome-control-center OR using "Turn Off" option in Bluetooth shortcut in top bar WITHOUT DISCONNECTING the headset. Expected Behavior: Bluetooth should work irrespective of how it was turned off. Actual Behavior: Need to restart my laptop to gain access to Bluetooth. Note: I upgraded bluez to version v5.50 from PPA according to this article: https://medium.com/@overcode/fixing-bluetooth-in-ubuntu-pop-os-18-04-d4b8dbf7ddd6 but this didn't work PPA used: ppa:bluetooth/bluez ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.04 Package: linux-image-5.3.0-51-generic 5.3.0-51.44~18.04.2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.3.0-51.44~18.04.2-generic 5.3.18 Uname: Linux 5.3.0-51-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.9-0ubuntu7.14 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Fri May 1 10:34:31 2020 InstallationDate: Installed on 2019-05-12 (354 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Release amd64 (20190210) SourcePackage: linux-signed-hwe UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug bionic -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1876239 Title: Bluetooth doesn't power on if it was turned off without disconnecting headset To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1876239/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
