According to the supported products at https://www.nvidia.com/en- us/drivers/unix/ 390 is the highest driver that support your GPU.I wonder why you did not get that installed automatically instead of the really old 340.
You should try to install 390, and you do not need the PPA for that. However for those that can use 440 and want the newest 440.82 apt pinning works. Create a file named /etc/apt/preferences.d/priority-nvidia with this : Package: * Pin: release o=LP-PPA-graphics-drivers Pin-Priority: 1000 Check the policy with apt-cache policy nvidia-driver-440 and then install the driver. Can the version in the PPA for 440.82 in 20.04 please be bumped so its higher than 440.82+really.440.64? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1876522 Title: apt chooses Ubuntu repo instead of nvidia-graphics PPA To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-440/+bug/1876522/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
