Public bug reported: Please make it easier to test hw-specific installer paths
Could you please add: $ cat debian/modaliases alias dmi:*:pnUBUNTUQEMUTESTNVIDIA:* meta oem-qemu-meta modalias to the nvidia-graphics-drivers packages? This would allow us to start qemu VM (as we do in automated testing) and depending on the qemu-vm smbios settings it will trick the installer into thinking that "oh yes, this machine needs nvidia l-r-m and all that yazz). We already have dmi:*:pnUBUNTUQEMUTEST:* modalias that we use to test that the installer is in "certified OEM hardware mode" and enables OEM archives. Although i think we might want an "SKU" alias for NVIDIA such that we can test with/without OEM as well as with/without NVIDIA. Let me consult about the exact modalias to add. ** Affects: nvidia-graphics-drivers-440 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Dimitri John Ledkov (xnox) Status: Incomplete ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers-440 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers-440 (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Dimitri John Ledkov (xnox) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1882795 Title: Please make it easier to test hw-specific installer paths with VMs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-440/+bug/1882795/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
