The main culprit was CONFIG_PINCTRL_SUNRISEPOINT that provides an
interface that allows configuring of PCH pins and using them as GPIOs.
Apparently the touchpad port needs to be unlocked by the signal raised
by PCH's GPIO pins, so this module is required for it to work. It is
called pinctrl_sunrisepoint, and it is a feature of my motherboard's
chipset, Sunrise Point.
