I too have this issue with a Dell Latitude 7400. Booting with power attached works fine, booting on battery power results in getting stuck at “loading initial ramdisk”
In an attempt to rule out Ubuntu I installed Windows 10, patched to the latest versions, and experience a similar hang booting Windows on battery power (the laptop entirely hangs just before the Windows login screen is displayed). Windows Recovery tools still seem operational. Seems like hardware/BIOS related to me. Sorry I can’t offer anything more than anecdotal information. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1853369 Title: [19.10] Boot hangs at "loading initial ramdisk" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/intel-microcode/+bug/1853369/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
