Public bug reported: Brightness control sometimes doesn't work after boot. Doing `sudo apt install --reinstall kscreen`, logging out, and logging back in usually resolves the problem. Booting into Windows, adjusting the brightness, then rebooting back into Kubuntu sometimes resolves the problem.
