I think I have the same issue on my Idea Pad 5, before I got i2c controller timed out errors, but after a firmware upgrade, I don't see any errors, I'll try to revert my firmware settings to see if I can restore the previous state (where after windows is started, touchpad workd on the next boot) I'll try the kernels given here afterwards (since it did work before)
