I am having the very same problem, did a solution arise? venue 11 with keyboard/battery dock, just installed ubuntu 20LTS (previously 16LTS), everything worked fine until I started the software installer, from then on no touchpad, then restarting the system the touchpad works at login for 2-3 seconds then stops. when the touchpad stops the virtual keyboard pops on screen (but the actual keyboard is still working, just no touchpad)
