@Tyler, Canonical's Ceph builds don't deal with build options as such (like -DNDEBUG) but uses the upstream provided CMakeLists.txt files. So if we build with RelWithDebInfo, it should automatically use -DNDEBUG, too. The question was whether our build uses RelWithDebInfo -- which turns out to be case for all but rocksdb.
