I really appreciate the effort put into snapd. However, as a fellow
software developer, I honestly fail to understand how an issue that's
been going on for 4 years and has the most heat of all issues
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/snapd/+bugs?orderby=-heat&start=0),
that depends on **being able to configure a base folder for snaps**
requires a design document after 4 years of discussion. Specially when
as mentioned before, the linux ecosystem already has defaults for this
(ie, .local/, etc), or maybe a SNAPS_HOME env var?. I'm really curious
as to how the current design precludes a simple fix. Any suggested link
to read about this?
