The issue remains. Recently I have switched over to the Sky2 proprietary driver under Unbuntu Gutsy. This has worked pretty stable for a while.
However when I changed back from a direct cable between the Broadcom Sky2 adapter to a longer cable with wall plug, things started to become troublesome again. It seems wire quality causes can cause big problems in the adapter when running a 1 gb network. Usually the problem is so severe that reseting the system does not work. A full cold reboot is necessary to regain connectivity. My conclusion for now is that this hardware is unstable with both open source and proprietary drivers under Linux. -- Sky2 network adapter crashes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/131759 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
