Update would note download as they are now ESM without a key for
permission. So I did as required to get the key and installed it as the
updates are moved to ESM. One of the updates from ESM was Samba. Now somba
no longer works.it was working great before the update! now connect to
server "smb://192.168.1.20/" does nothing when clicking on connect, no
connection, and the dialogue closes with no error message or further
dialogue. There is nothing for me to look up as no error is given, so where
to start. Also the config file is the same as I checked it against my
backup on my stand alone backup server that is on 192.168.1.20. The idea
that I have to lose my favorite desktop just to fix a created bug is nuts.
I like my ubuntu-gnome metacity fallback desktop. It is set up the way I
use it. I already did 16.04 and when I did it way back many programs just
stopped working and were no longer available. Plus My web
administration went completely out the window so I lost any way to run
my for profit website. I am old and cranky and do not do beta testing any
more as my time is short for this world anyway so all my effort is for
really important things.
