discovered during a manual partitioning install .. found that fstab had an entry for /boot/efi mount vfat type pointed to the /dev/sdb2 efi partition of the install media (USB)
deleted the fstab entry.. also deleted the mount point /boot/efi as no EFI partition existed on an MBR based system (being rebuilt) could then boot the system .. ( grub was installed/reinstalled .. dual boot system ) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1890978 Title: Unable to install Xubuntu 20.10 on legacy desktop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub-installer/+bug/1890978/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
