Public bug reported: This is happening since I upgraded from kubuntu 20.04 to 20.10
Every time I reboot, I cannot find the default "line out" output in the list of available sound output in kmixer, it has disappeared. The only workaround is to retrieve it is launching the following script : #!/bin/bash killall pulseaudio pulseaudio -k rm -r ~/.config/pulse/* rm -r ~/.pulse* sleep 15 pulseaudio --start ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.10 Package: pulseaudio 1:13.99.2-1ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.8.0-26.27-generic 5.8.14 Uname: Linux 5.8.0-26-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu50 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: skip CurrentDesktop: KDE Date: Wed Oct 28 13:57:02 2020 InstallationDate: Installed on 2019-06-02 (514 days ago) InstallationMedia: Kubuntu 19.04 "Disco Dingo" - Release amd64 (20190416) SourcePackage: pulseaudio UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to groovy on 2020-10-24 (4 days ago) dmi.bios.date: 03/16/2018 dmi.bios.release: 5.12 dmi.bios.vendor: American Megatrends Inc. dmi.bios.version: P2.50 dmi.board.name: H270M-ITX/ac dmi.board.vendor: ASRock dmi.chassis.asset.tag: To Be Filled By O.E.M. dmi.chassis.type: 3 dmi.chassis.vendor: To Be Filled By O.E.M. dmi.chassis.version: To Be Filled By O.E.M. dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnAmericanMegatrendsInc.:bvrP2.50:bd03/16/2018:br5.12:svnToBeFilledByO.E.M.:pnToBeFilledByO.E.M.:pvrToBeFilledByO.E.M.:rvnASRock:rnH270M-ITX/ac:rvr:cvnToBeFilledByO.E.M.:ct3:cvrToBeFilledByO.E.M.: dmi.product.family: To Be Filled By O.E.M. dmi.product.name: To Be Filled By O.E.M. dmi.product.sku: To Be Filled By O.E.M. dmi.product.version: To Be Filled By O.E.M. dmi.sys.vendor: To Be Filled By O.E.M. ** Affects: pulseaudio (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug groovy package-from-proposed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1901885 Title: line output device unailable on kde after reboot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/1901885/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
