Public bug reported: Firefox 82.0 Ubuntu 20.04
The default profile in the Ubuntu Firefox package is called "default- release", while the typical profile name for Firefox is "default". Slack opens links using the default profile when Firefox is the browser, causing links to open in a different profile than normal without the extensions , history, etc. from the normal browsing profile. To reproduce: - Set up Firefox in Ubuntu , run session to generate profile, install extensions - Install Slack from snap : snap install slack - Firefox as default browser in Ubuntu - Open link in Slack Slack opens the "default" profile of Firefox, which is different than the "default-release" that the Ubuntu firefox package defaults to. Expected: Ubuntu Firefox uses the normal "default" profile as default.
