Just a quick note.... I think I managed to stop this crash by
uninstalling the package 'indicator-datetime' - apparently the two
conflict when installed together.

>From the Ayatana Indicators github: "When using the -datetime Ayatana
Indicator, make sure that the -datetime Ubuntu Indicator (package name:
indicator-datetime) is not installed."

I'm using Ubuntu-MATE 20.10 on arm64 (Pi)
