I agree with @radar this is disruptive. It is not only the "switch user" option in the launcher, but also in the lock screen. If user Anna locks the screen, user Bob cannot unlock it as he will never have a "switch user" button there.
In my case, both me and my partner use a shared computer. Before this, when one of us finished using it, we would simply close the lid and the other one could use it afterwards.
