Unfortunately, the version in Focal is frozen, and has been since
February of 2020. No newer version of any package, unless it's either a
security fix or extremely minor bugfix, can be backported. That said, I
can make sure the newer version ends up in Ubuntu going forward.
Please consider using newer tools, such as ubuntu studio controls, or
studio controls from the Ubuntu Studio Backports PPA.
