Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report. >From the information you provided, it is hard to determine what the root cause of the problem is. I see some interesting things, though:
1) According to DpkgHistoryLog.txt, your unnatended-upgrades command has been failing a lot lately. This seems unrelated to the mysql-server upgrade. 2) From DpkgTerminalLog.txt, I can see that the MySQL errors are being written to the file /var/lib/mysql/satyendra-Latitude-E6330.err. This file was not included in the original list of attachments, so it would be really nice if you could provide it for us. Since there is not enough information in your report to begin triage or to differentiate between a local configuration problem and a bug in Ubuntu, I am marking this bug as "Incomplete". We would be grateful if you would: provide a more complete description of the problem, explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to "New". For local configuration issues, you can find assistance here: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community ** Changed in: mysql-8.0 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1908184 Title: package mysql-server-8.0 8.0.22-0ubuntu0.20.04.3 failed to install/upgrade: installed mysql-server-8.0 package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-8.0/+bug/1908184/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
