It's pretty jerky. Then after a number of cycles of blinking screen on the laptop and the dock seemingly being restarted (the Ethernet kept going off and on) the external screen came to life and now the system seems to be operating normally. I did fiddle with the "Display" GUI a bit before it stopped being jerky. Attached is the dmesg. -- John
