I have the same problem on Ubuntu proper. Nautilus is unusable using 100% CPU usage.
I have removed the links for Documents, Downloads, Pictures etc in my home folder, and restored those folders back to being normal folders (not links to elsewhere). I have made links to the actual Documents, Pictures etc folders inside the normal home folders.
