Even if that were the only consideration, which it's not, how do you explain the fact that 20.04.2 has not yet been released?
>From my daily driver: lance@lance-desktop:~$ lsb_release -a No LSB modules are available. Distributor ID: Ubuntu Description: Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS Release: 20.04 Codename: focal And yes, so far it's fairly easy to change from 'linux-generic- hwe-20.04' to 'linux-generic', then reboot selecting the latest 5.4 kernel and then purging all of the 5.8 bits and pieces. But once the anticipated HWE X stack drops (which will likely solve most X related issues) it's a real mess. Of course the 20.04 Beta images are archived at old-release so that's an option - just keep installing from a Beta image for the next 4+ years. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1912032 Title: Nvidia-340 fails to build during Focal install due to upgrade to 5.8 kernel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-meta-hwe-5.8/+bug/1912032/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
