If the behavior of glibc is changing wrt syscalls, and this is causing a regression in the behavior of a leaf package, saying that we should backport the syscall to older kernels is unsatisfactory to me; since we broadly expect Ubuntu to run as a container on miscellaneous hosts that are of reasonably recent vintage, without depending on Ubuntu-specific kernel backports. So I would like us to agree a plan of action here that doesn't involve punting to the kernel.
If there is a reason to think that this is a bug in the tests of notepadqq, rather than a regression in the runtime behavior of the tool as a result of glibc requiring this new syscall without suitable fallback, then please explain that here and we can move forward. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1916070 Title: autopkgtest fails in hirsute on armhf with glibc 2.33 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1916070/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
