Public bug reported:

I ran a test install of ubuntu2104 after which I ran an update in the installed
system and files related to grub-efi were upgraded.
I later removed this installation during a re-install.
The files on my installation media relating to grub-efi would have been older
than those actually installed in the boot on my pc.
I think this probably caused the crash.
If I get the latest version of the beta [is that possible?] I don't think there
would be a problem.
I did actually manage to install but got a warning there might be problems.
